Arsenal transfer news: As they attempt to stave off competition for the Leeds United player, the Gunners have one significant advantage.

Although I must acknowledge that my faith in Arsenal’s decision to sign Raphinha has marginally increased, I must admit that I’m still quite skeptical.

Tottenham, Chelsea, and Barcelona were all interested in the player at one point, but it now seems that Edu has been able to work his magic and offer us a real chance to get him this summer.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal intends to “intensify” negotiations to sign him next week. Following a rejected offer a few days ago, an improved bid is also anticipated to be presented.

Arsenal are now seen as the favorites to sign the 25-year-old after Spurs and Chelsea switched their focus to other targets, while Barcelona struggle to raise money, according to the report.

But Arsenal isn’t the only team that is making it easier for them to grab their guy. Following a breakthrough in negotiations on Friday, Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu are reportedly moving close on Gabriel Jesus of Manchester City.

The two teams are thought to have reached a verbal understanding over a £45 million deal, and personal terms are not seen to be a problem.
