Irina Gen was expelled and suspended for 5 years.

A Russian educator has been granted a sentence that will be served on probation after she voiced her opposition to the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine in front of her students.

Irina Gen was given a five-year suspended sentence by a court in Penza for “discrediting” the Russian military.

The penalty was handed out in accordance with a new law that forbids any criticism of the situation in Ukraine.

45-year-old English teacher will be barred from working in public schools for a term of three years due to a previous disciplinary action.

The Penza court ruled that she “disseminated erroneous information” when she told her pupils about the siege of Mariupol and Russian airstrikes killed Ukrainian youngsters.

In March, one of Ms. Gen’s students shared a recording of her discussing with the class the reasons why they would not be able to attend a sports event in Europe as planned.

According to the lecturer, Russia has no place in this world unless and until it adopts a more civilized style of conducting itself.
